Encourage

Fresh

We have all heard the saying, “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” It is a phrase that many use to encourage and promote a positive attitude in the face of adversity. When difficulty happens we have to regroup and sometimes start fresh. When you are faced with lemons in life, why not put a positive spin and make FRESH lemonade? Here is a simple recipe: 1. Take your lemons, start with just one or two. As you think about those struggles, cut them in half and give them a good squeeze into your glass. Take out the frustration on the lemon and squeeze out all of the juice. 2. Add sugar to taste. Think about all of the sweet blessings you have in your life. Let that sweeten your lemons and the struggle you are facing. 3. Add ice. Ice cools the drink but it also provides another way to mix up the sugar and juice as you add water. Sometimes you just need to chill your fear and anxiety. 4. Add water and stir. As the water fills the glass, it dilutes the bitter lemon juice and helps mix the lemon and sugar. The bitterness is diluted as the water washes through and when you stir, it makes it sweet as the sugar takes over the lemon. 5. Throw in the lemon rinds. It reminds you of the struggle and bitterness you faced and how it can be sweet again! Ahh fresh lemonade and a fresh outlook on life can be all you need. #hopewriterlife #writingchallenge #hopewriters #writingprompts
