How many times do we use our GPS to get us places and help us find our way? For many of us, we couldn’t do without it and using a paper map seems like it is too old fashioned and outdated. We depend on a device in our car, watch or phone to tell us how to maneuver streets, avoid traffic jams and get to our final destination by avoiding obstacles and delays.
In life, we tend to use our EPS, expectation positioning system. We expect our life to go a certain way. We expect to avoid obstacles making life go smoothly and without detours. However, life just isn’t that way. We will experience setbacks, struggles, grief, loss, joys, successes and hardship. God hasn’t promised that life will be easy but when we only use our EPS and depend on the things we expect to happen, we can lose sight of the things God has already planned to happen.
We may still experience detours and delays but keeping our eyes on God and the path He wants us to travel will help us get to our final destination. Oh, and He does still offer this roadmap on our phones and electronic devices in the form of a Bible app and it is also still widely used in the paper book form too. The Bible is never outdated. Open that map today and stay on the path. Let God reroute your life to help get you to the final destination of eternity in heaven with Him.
